Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
This position involves diagnosing mechanical and electronic issues, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping a fleet of diesel vehicles and equipment in safe operating condition. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on mechanical skills, experience with modern onboard computer systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and related mechanical systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment
- Use onboard computer diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electronic and mechanical issues
- Operate heavy equipment as needed to assess performance and complete repairs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service history
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Communicate repair status and findings to supervisors
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Modern mechanical skills including understanding of onboard computer diagnostic systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Preferred:
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Experience with fleet maintenance environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $28.00 – $32.00/hr, commensurate with experience

Work Environment
On-site shop and field position. This role requires physical activity including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Workers may be required to operate vehicles and heavy equipment as part of daily duties.
